The Gold price

 

The commonly used price reference for physical gold is the gold fixing, also known as LBMA price, of the London Bullion Market Association (LBMA). It takes place twice a day at 10.30 a.m. and 3 p.m. (GMT local time). The aim of the gold fixing is to enable gold traders to execute their transactions at a fixed market price. The LBMA price is in USD and usually only deviates by about half a US dollar from the international spot rate (spot price) for gold.

 

The LBMA price refers to gold that is traded in the standard 400 troy ounce bars (400oz, approx. 12.44kg) fine gold with a minimum content of 995‰ gold. The price for other products such as 1kg bars, 100g bars or 1 troy ounce coins is usually subject to a premium on the price for the standard bar, because the minting of these gold products is more expensive for the refineries. As a general rule: the smaller the denomination, the higher the premium.

 

 

 

Gold bar price

 

SWISSGOLD uses as price reference the market price (spot price) for gold in US dollar. The price reference can be viewed here, for example:

On top of this gold price, depending on the product (bar size), comes the bar surcharge of the supplier/manufacturer, as follows:
